| IT ALL STARTS HERE Evolution. It's subject of much debate in the scientific and religious worlds, but there is substantial proof that it did happen. The DNA of the human race has always been changing and trying to improve itself. For thousands of years it has tried to create something more then what we are now, giving some people gifts that most of society didn't possess. Some of these people could see the future, some could read minds, some could see and communicate with the other side. These gifts of the mind were simple, these people were called psychics. But that's not where the evolution stopped. The ever-changing genes of our kind advanced further, giving some people abilities beyond comprehension: the ability to heal the injured, to control fire with a simple thought, to turn something as simple as a rock into something amazing, and to even transform their bodies into something different.
In the late twentieth century (sometime in the 1990's) a group of these individuals made themselves known to the world. As a general rule, humanity is scared of things they do not know and do not understand and these individuals became subject to government investigation. It was found that their genes were mutated, different from those of a "normal" human. Thus they became labeled as "Mutants".
At the turn of the century a law was passed to reduce the rights of these individuals and a system was implements to track them. This system was called the Mutant Identification and Location System - M.I.L.S. - where all those born with these genetic mutations (from being "psychic" to being able to turn invisible) were registered for the world to know what they were. When the world should have progressed, have grown over their need for genocide they stepped back...
However, there was hope, a group of these individuals are constantly fighting for their rights and one of these such people is a man named Constantine Pallaton. In the year 2002, he reformed an old abandoned hospital into a boarding school and refuge for the "mutants", a place where they could live and learn in a safe environment. Pallaton Academy opened not far outside of London in England and very quickly became an international school for these people. They came from all over, some from families who loved them and others who had nowhere else to go. Today this school - despite it's attendees - has become one of the top schools in the world in terms of education and continues to grow each year. But the school is not completely safe, there are always people who would love to see it shut down or worse. |
